“Envy and Jealousy” themed conference presented by Dr. Faik Özdengül was held at Prof. Dr. Asım Duman Conference Hall within the scope of 14 March Medicine Day Activities.
Dr. Faik Özdengül at his speech containing sample quotes from Mevlana’s Masnavi: “There are 4 phases of human being. These are envy, jealousy, greed and thankfulness. Envy is not to be aware of grace. Jealousy is to be afraid of losing one’s possessions. Envy feels pain while experiencing the fact that others own what it desires. The one, who has envy, feels pain from the scenes of pleasure and contentment. Though, the misery of others comforts him. Therefore, any attempt made to satisfy the person with envy is futile.”
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, Dean of Meram Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özkağnıcı, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Rahmi Örs, Vice Dean Ayşe Saide Şahin, academic member and students attended the conference. At the end of the conference, our Rector made a greeting speech narrating a brief anecdote of him.
Programme ended after plate presentation of Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özkağnıcı to spokesperson of the conference Dr. Faik Özdengül.
