Prof. Dr. Mehmet BİREKUL

prof. Dr. Mehmet Birekul completed his undergraduate education in Selcuk University, Faculty of Theology in 1999, and his master's degree in Sociology of Religion at the same university with the thesis titled "Women and Family in Sociologically Early Islamic Society" (2002). He also completed his doctorate with his thesis titled “Related Expectations” (2009). Between 2010 and 2012, he worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Education of İnönü University. He was a visiting professor at Malaysia International Islamic University in 2011. He received the title of associate professor of sociology in 2016 and the title of professor in 2021. He is currently a faculty member at Necmettin Erbakan University, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Department of Sociology. “Social Life and Family in the Days of the Prophet” (Konya / 2001), “Woman in the Days of the Prophet” (Konya / 2004), “-Between Fear and Hope- European Union, Turkey and Religious Life” (Amsterdam / 2011) and Culture of Gifts (Istanbul / 2014) and many international and national articles and papers published in the fields of Sociology of Religion, Sociology of Culture, Sociology of Music, Modernization, Globalization and Identity, and also copyright studies in the same fields. He is married and has 3 children.
