Goalball European Championship that our university supported within the Social Responsibility Project as well, carried out between November 4-10 in Konya ended by a closing ceremony. Goalball European Championship which is in the activity calendar of International Visually Handicapped Sports Federation ended with a closing dinner organized on November 10 at Rixos Hotel. Deputy Governor of Konya Hasan Karakaş, our Rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, President of International Organizations Chamber Ozan Çetiner, Executive Director of International Visually Handicapped Sports Federation Neil O’Donovan, Predisent of Turkey Visually Handicapped Sports Federation Abdullah Çiftçi, Director of Konya City Youth Services and Sports Directorate Ömer Ersöz, our university’s Head of Health, Culture and Sports Office Abdullah Büyükatıcıgil, participant countries’ athletes, administrative staff and invitees joined the closing dinner.
Following the speeches made, the medals and cups were presented to teams ranked in top 3 in both categories of tournament, man and women. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker presented the medals of Turkish team achieved 2. Rank and champion team Russia in women. After the dinner given in honor of tournament, the evening programme ended.
