Our Rector Visited Newly Founded Newspaper “Pusula”

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker together with Press and Public Relations Counselor Mehmet Lütfi Özcan paid a visit to the office of newspaper “Pusula” which has been recently started its publication life. Delegation of our university was hosted by Harun Akgül, grant holder, Mustafa Kulu, legal entity representative and executive editor of the newspaper. At the visit our Rector Şeker: “Press is one of the most important dynamics of a country and an indispensable fact of democracy. Journalism in Konya takes its back in times before Republic. Especially at Independence War, press in Konya has carried out an important mission in raising awareness of public and elimination of enemies. Nowadays also, I believe in that press in Konya contributes much social-economic development of the city. Strong local press means strong local dynamics. I wish that newspaper “Pusula” that has been recently started its publication be auspicious for Konya and our country and expect the continuation of its principled, honest and fair publication politics.”
Harun Akgül, grant holder of the newspaper, expressed his gladness for the visit of our university delegation: “I would like to thank our Rector for his visit. This visit enhanced our enthusiasm and desire, increased our morale. His analyze over journalism enlightened us. We also appreciate and follow the works accomplished by our Rector for the university. I wish the continuance of his success and state that the accomplishments he has achieved carry great importance in construction of a precious and meaningful future, hereby I present my greetings and respect.”
After the visit our Rector presented as gift a bag filled with materials promoting our university to Harun Akgül, newspaper’s grant holder.
