About Us
Our university is named after Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan who was a Professor of Mechanical Engineering. For this reason, we try to educate our students as professionally as possible. The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Necmettin Erbakan University was established in 2010 within the Faculty of Engineering. The goal is to educate students to gain the tittle “Mechanical Engineer” having the knowledge to undertake effective tasks in various fields. Our department, which started education in 2012, is now educating the engineers of the future by bringing together the knowledge accumulated in the field of Mechanical Engineering with its professional academic staff. The department consists of six divisions, namely Energy, Construction and Manufacturing, Machine Theory and Dynamics, Thermodynamics and Automotive.
Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Engineering Faculty of Necmettin Erbakan University admits 70 students each year. Our first undergraduate students were enrolled in the 2013-2014 academic year. With the Professional education our department provides, we offer students who will be competitive in the national and international area and preferred in the business world to be equipped with up-to-date information. The goal is to educate individuals who are prone to teamwork, can keep up with technological innovations, use their professional responsibility within the framework of ethical rules, are aware of and evaluate the social, economic, political and legal content of the professional activities undertaken and sensitive to the environment to health and safety issues. Master education has started in our department since 2014 and Ph.D. education has started in 2016. By graduate education, students who want to learn the subjects that require expertise in the Engineering profession or to pursue an academic career are educated. As academic staff, there are 5 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 4 Assistant Professors and 1 lecturer in our department.
