Professor Ahmet ŞAHBAZ
He was born in Adana in 1976. He graduated from Çukurova University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics in 1999. In 2003, he completed his MA degree in Economics from Çukurova University, Institute of Social Sciences. In 2009, he received his PhD degree from the same department on a thesis titled “Effects of Exchange Rate Changes on Aggregate Output in The Developing Countries: An Application for Turkey”. He worked at first as a research assistant (2009-2011) then as an assistant professor (2011-2014) at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics. Şahbaz started working at Necmettin Erbakan University, Faculty of Political Science, Department of Economics, in 2014. He received his associate professor degree in International Economics in 2015. He was appointed as a professor at the Department of Public Finance in 2021.
He has many articles published in international journals, including three with SSCI indexes and papers presented at international meetings. In addition, he has published one international book and book chapters in edited books written in the field of economics and numerous articles in domestic journals. His research interests are focused on international economics, international political economy, economic growth, development economics, transition economies, econometrics, and institutional economics.
