Prof. Dr. Metin ARMAĞAN

He was born in 1978 in Konya-Karapınar. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Karapınar. He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Biology Teaching at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Education in 1999. He completed his master's degree in the Department of Biology at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Institute of Science in 2003, and his doctorate in the Department of Biology at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Institute of Science in 2013. He became an associate professor in 2018. He worked as a classroom teacher in Diyarbakır between 1999-2001, as a specialist at Van Yuzuncu Yil University Faculty of Education between 2001-2013, as an assistant professor at Van Yuzuncu Yil University Faculty of Education between 2013-2017, as an assistant professor at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Buharkent Vocational School between 2017-2019, as an associate professor at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Buharkent Vocational School between 2019-2021, and as an associate professor at Necmettin Erbakan University Ereğli Faculty of Agriculture between 2021-2024. He has been working as a professor at Necmettin Erbakan University Ereğli Faculty of Agriculture since 2024. He served as department head and assistant director in the institutions he worked.

He conducts research on Turkey's plant diversity, medicinal and aromatic plants, meadow-pasture plant formations. He has contributed 10 new plant species to the literature through his research in different parts of Turkey. He has served as a manager, researcher and instructor in projects supported by TÜBİTAK and other institutions.
