Working areas of the Department of Food Engineering are Cereals and Cereal Products Technology, Vegetable Oil Technology, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Dairy Technology, Fruit and Vegetable Processing Technology, Food Nanotechnology.
Students who graduate from the Food Engineering Department have the opportunity to work in both the public and private sectors. There are opportunities to work on food engineering in the public sector at the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Customs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, TUBITAK and municipalities. In the private sector, companies working on food have a wide range of work areas such as project consultant, quality control officer, production supervisor, R&D supervisor, investment specialist, food inspection inspector, quality control laboratory supervisor.
